A year: 52.5 Weeks
7 days in a week
365 days in a year
24 hrs in a day
60 minutes in an hour
525,600 minutes in a year
It takes 5 minutes to write my goals and now I have 525,600 minutes to accomplish them.
Some can see this as encouraging.....Until suddenly as if on cue everything SLOWS THE EFF DOWN….
Because now there's a goal....
"I am going to go to the gym every other day" or "I am going to write more every week"
I have 12 waking hours to accomplish my goals.... or watch 12 episodes of Game of Thrones……and then... I'm hungry…I don't much feel like eating healthy...... Also don't feel like writing because I'm lonely and should be social with real people.
None of these thoughts have anything to do with the goals I set!....AHHHH!! Oh Goals....I want you so bad, but often other things just....Seem.....More important...At the time...
What I forgot to incorporate in my goal setting were all the variables: side jobs, house work, pet care, and social life....Sometimes by the time I get home after an 8 hour shift on my feet the last thing I want to do is wake up early the next morning and go to the gym....I can barely leave my bed, especially if it was a late shift. So I push it back and say "I'll do it tomorrow".
I mean when I created the goals I'm like “f*#k yea I deserve this shit”
But I realize how much persistence and patience I need to have with myself. Because even if I need to sleep in or binge watch Black Mirror, I will have 525,588 minutes more
